The path of Belarus to the World Trade Organisation

Poland, as one of the founding countries of the World Trade Organisation, adapted its internal legislation to WTO standards almost 20 years ago. We shared our many years' experience regarding accession and participating in the works of WTO with our eastern neighbour. During a week-long training, the representatives of the Byelarussian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Byelarussian Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Biellegprom Concern learned the issues related to legal, procedural and practical aspects of accession to the World Trade Organisation. Lectures and workshops were managed by Polish experts with the departments of economy, finance, infrastructure and development as well as the KNF Office. Byelarussian officials also met Krzysztof Trepczyński, permanent representative of Poland to WTO in Geneva.

It was the last training realised under this year's Public Administration Academy of the Eastern Partnership organized in cooperation with the National School of Public Administration and financed from the funds of the Polish development cooperation programme.
