Support the development of the Georgian System of Statistics in the field of regional accounts. Transfer of knowledge required to carry out calculations of selected macroeconomic categories by territorial breakdown.

According to Georgia’s Law of 11 December 2009 on Public Statistics, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) is an independent authority which develops and publishes statistical information. The methodology currently applied in the Georgian statistics system’s regional accounts to calculate basic macroeconomic categories across territories is not adequate in the context of regional development policies and their information needs. This is largely due to a lack of a comprehensive computational methodology in regional accounts and a lack of reliable data sources. This problem could be addressed by developing new computational methodologies and greater utilisation of data from administrative sources.
