Support for the Veterinary Service of Moldova in implementation of sanitary-veterinary requirements and improvement of sanitary official controls in the framework of food safety policy

The project is associated with the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between the European Union and Moldova. The project comprises training for the Moldovan services on EU regulations and on Polish solutions for improving the efficiency of sanitary controls within the food safety policy, the traceability system and the food safety warning system, thus encompassing other areas besides those covered in already-implemented projects. The focus will be on improving the safety of Moldovan food of animal origin and on helping with the implementation of solutions that conform to EU regulations in accordance with Moldova’s commitment under the DCFTA.

In addition, the projects implemented earlier contributed to better cooperation between Polish and Moldovan veterinary services, resulting in, inter alia, a meeting of representatives of the veterinary services of Poland and Moldova in Warsaw on 18–19 August 2014. Following this meeting, the veterinary conditions for exports were agreed upon for a number of animals and agri-food products. The current project includes participation in training in Poland also of high-level individuals responsible for making decisions, providing an opportunity for further decisions to facilitate trade in agri-food products between our countries.

The project includes training on EU regulations and Polish solutions concerning official controls, the traceability system and the food safety warning system.
