Raising awareness of Polish society in the field of impact of Common Agricultural Policy of the EU on socio-economic situation of Sub-Saharan Africa
The project was implemented between 1 May and 31 December 2011 in 6 municipalities of the Łódź Voivodeship, and the cities of Łódź and Warsaw. Its aim was to raise awareness of young farmers, students, representatives of non-governmental organisations, media and policymakers about the current situation of the population of sub-Saharan Africa, and the impact of the EU Common Agricultural Policy on farming in those regions. The coordinator of the project was the Association of Economic Consultants Pro-Akademia.
The main element of the project was to develop, publish and distribute a report “Impact of the CAP on the development of agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa”, and a position paper of the Polish social groups in relation to these problems.
These objectives were achieved through organising 5 informational-educational workshops, where the report was presented, and a survey carried out. Moreover, a project’s website was created, where the developed documents and 10 articles about global education were published.
As part of the project, 40 hours of workshops were conducted, that were attended by 175 people. During the workshops, 100 copies of the report and the position paper were distributed.
