232/2012/M Lviv Oblast as a region of modern municipal management

Foundation - Agency of Regional Development

Continuation of a project initiated in 2012. The aim of this project is to support local governments in Lviv Oblast in Ukraine in modernizing the municipal management system. Based on the diagnosis of the state of municipal services and the quality of river waters in the region, a modern strategy of municipal services administration shall be established. The regional administration staff will become acquainted with it during a series of courses and discussion panels. A study tour to Poland is planned, with conferences and visits to places providing municipal management. The project was granted PLN 207.765.

 

105/2013 Construction of a modern heating installation with renewable energy sources in the Lviv National Polytechnic University, as a teaching and training base for the group of small and medium-sized enterprises from Western Ukraine. RES for SME

Cracow University of Technology, The Branch of Fundamental Processes and Environment Protection Devices

In the framework of the project, a modern heating installation will be built in the Lviv National Polytechnic University; it shall contain solar vacuum collectors and a heating pump, serving for demonstrative, didactic and scientific purposes; the generated energy will be used in one of the University facilities. The installation project will be based on the latest international solutions, especially in optimization, energy balance and steering. A series of trainings for the representatives of the Ministry of Environment in designing, assembling and handling of heating installations with renewable energy sources (solar collector, heating pumps) will take place.

 

137/2013/M Young people with the initiative 2 - innovative methods of entrepreneurship education in the Ukrainian educational system

FSLD Malopolska Institute of Local Government and Administration

Continuation of a project carried out in 2012. Its aim is to create and implement innovative instruments of youth education in schools grades 1-3 in entrepreneurship courses in six Oblasts in Ukraine. Educational instruments – basic simulation games, decision simulation games, computer applications on a web portal created for this sake to increase the effectiveness attractiveness of the classes and for the Ukrainian students from grades 1-3. In the scope of the project, 40 Ukrainian entrepreneurship coaches will be trained in using those instruments and in disseminating them in education facilities which do not take part in the project. A manual will be prepared for the recently coached trainers to allow them to independently implement the new instruments. The project was granted PLN 441 000.

 

178/2013  Support the development of Academic Business Incubators in Ukraine

Higher School of Public Administration in Szczecin

In the scope of the project, two Academic Business Incubators will be inaugurated, developed and promoted in two Ukrainian universities – Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of State Management of National State Management Academy under the President of Ukraine and Kiev International University. The project activities include the creation of a technical and meritocratic infrastructure of the ABIs in the before mentioned universities and their promotion in the Lviv and Odessa Regional Institute of State Management of National State Management Academy under the President of Ukraine and in the media. The professional employment and development advisors trained during the study visits in Poland in self presentation and predisposition determination shall lead group workshops for students in the next stage. The project was granted PLN 193 065,00.

 

214/2013 Improvement of energy management in typical public buildings of the city and Oblasti Iwano-Frankivsk

AGH University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas

The aim of this project is to activate the local government units of Iwano-Frankivsk and selected towns in the Iwano-Frankivsk Oblasti to undertake energy usage rationalization. Modern solutions based on European standards shall be used. The effect of project activities shall be the broadening of knowledge and competences of the local authorities in the scope of preparing energy efficient investments. A study visit will be organized in Poland, during which the participants will get acquainted with the Polish solutions in the discussed field. An cooperation offer with Polish financial institutions and potential investors will be prepared.

 

228/2013 Make the city a magnet for investors

Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies

The main aim of this project is to undertake active steps to create and implement a promotion strategy for small towns (10-15 thousand inhabitants) in 19 Oblasti in Ukraine and to create their positive image for potential overseas investors. The development of knowledge and competences of the administration staff through a number of e-learning trainings, seminars and consulting shall be achieved, along with preparing them to be able to create town branding, offers for overseas investors and basis for cooperation with them. 30 representatives of Ukrainian towns shall go on a study visit to Poland, where they will attend conferences on Polish and overseas successes in building investment potential. The project was granted PLN 345 762 00.

 

257/2013 Responsible investment is an investment in human resources. Increase of management competence in the field of communal economy of Ukrainian LGUs - II edition

Foundation in Support of Local Democracy Centre Mazowsze

Continuation of a project initiated in 2011 and 2012. The aim is to modernize the management methods in 4 Ukrainian local government units and to prepare complex analyses of investment projects based on rational planning, specific cost and risk assessment and efficient human resources management. Project activities will contribute to the activation of local government units through the creation and functioning of task teams. They shall contribute to the development of a cooperation model between the local government units, enterprises and non-governmental organizations. Trainings for municipal service consultants, workshops and training-consulting sessions in investment project analysis shall be held. An important element will be the study visit to Poland, to present the Polish experiences and solutions used in municipal services. The project was granted PLN 282 140 00.

 

259/2013 Cooperation is valuable - support for Ukrainian cities in solving problems of municipal administration sector

Fundacja Rozwoju Demokracji Lokalnej Centrum Mazowsze

The aim of this project is the activation of Ukrainian local government units in ameliorating municipal services and effective management of real estate through the use of the experience of Polish towns and water-sewage systems partner enterprises.

Due to the planned training-consulting visits in the Ukrainian towns Dubno and Kołomyja with the participation of representatives of Polish towns – Jelenia Góra and Legionowo – a closer cooperation in municipal administration between the before mentioned partner cities is foreseen. Recommendations for tackling the problems of municipal administration, the problem of garbage and attracting grants shall be made. Final solutions will be presented on a final conference, which will be organized in Lviv, and be published on partner’s and project leader’s websites and on the information portal. The project was granted PLN  236 820,00.

 

315/2013 Innovation, Information, Development. Increasing the attractiveness of small towns in Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine

European Cooperation Centre

The projects aims at increasing the investment attractiveness and at more professional information and promotion services for foreign investors in 5 small towns (10-50.000 inhabitants) in Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine. During two study visits in Lower Silesia in Poland, people responsible for economic policy, promotion and investor services in selected Ukrainian towns will get acquainted with the Polish experiences in those areas. In addition, the most active participants will take part in traineeships in Poland. The project was granted PLN 249 940.

 

322/2013 Kharkiv business incubator - the chance for professional courses graduates

Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI

The project aims at increasing employment chances of graduates from the Kharkiv National Academy of Municipal Economy through the creation of an academic business incubator. The beneficiaries of the project are staff and students from the Kharkiv Academy; the program of the functioning of the incubator will be created by a Polish-Ukrainian Expert Committee. The program includes seminars and workshops in Kharkiv and two study visits to Cracow about the functioning of business incubators in Poland, as well as courses for students in creating business plans and starting their own business activity. 5 persons out of the total 150 students will be selected to start their business in the Academic Business Incubator. The project was granted PLN 208 657.00

 

361/2013 Regeneration of Podzamcze backyards - professionalization of management of municipal houses in Lviv: 2013

Institute of Urban Development

This project undertakes a part of activities from the 2011 project for revitalizing Cracow’s touristy district, Podzamcze. The project’s author in cooperation with the Lviv City Council, aims at creating a better image of the old castle and at the activation of local community. The aim of the project is to include the locals into managing and revitalizing pre-war real estate in Lviv by starting the process of revitalizing courtyards of old Lviv tenement houses. The project is supposed to unite the inhabitants of the houses through the creation of unique and original courtyards. Architecture students from the Lviv Polytechnic will be invited to take part in the creation of projects and inhabitants of the houses, real estate representatives and local leaders will carry them out. The idea behind the project is the renewal and revitalization of old tenant houses in Lviv. In the future an expert group will be trained to promote and implement similar projects. A broad promotion campaign of the project effects and the inclusion of inhabitants into the municipal houses management are planned along with activities increasing urban aesthetics.

 

392/2013 Business for ecology. Increasing competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises through the development of modern systems for the collection of hazardous waste in the Vinnytsia

Association Integration Europe-East

The aim of this project is to increase competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises through the development of modern systems of batteries disposal from municipal waste. The project is directed at 5 small enterprises in the Vinnitsa Oblast in Ukraine, which selectively collect used batteries and at those which plan to include that service into their business activities.  As part of the project workshops and seminars will be held in Poland (Kielce) and Ukraine (Vinnitsa), during which participants will learn about the Polish experience and will take part in collecting batteries in Vinnitsa and in the preparation of an interactive map of battery disposal points across the town. The project was granted PLN 138 630 00.

 

420/2013 The public light for all – modern public light for city Kostopol – part II

Local Activity Group "WARMIŃSKI ZAKĄTEK"

Continuation of a project initiated in 2012. It aims at a comprehensive modernization of the urban lighting system in Kostopol; replacement of the old technologies which do not fulfill ecological standards with modern, energy efficient lighting services in crucial places in the town. As part of the project, during workshops and site inspections the participants will learn about comprehensive urban lighting models in the Warmian-Mazurian Voivodeship in Poland. The project was granted PLN 446 504 00.
