The World Food Programme cordially invites to an open press conference which will take place on March 30 at 1.30 p.m. in Warsaw University Library at 56/66 Dobra Street (conference room no. 256).
The conference will be attended by John Powell, Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Programme, and Robert Korzeniowski, WFP's goodwill ambassador in Poland.
The conference will be an opportunity to sum up Poland's co-operation with the WFP so far and present for the first time the PSA television spot promoting WFP's activities and featuring Robert Korzeniowski.
Representatives of NGOs are particularly welcome to attend the conference because of its informative nature.
Find out more about WFP:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is a UN agenda established in 1963. One of its main aims is to achieve the first of the eight Millennium Development Goals: halving the proportion of people suffering from hunger and poverty.
Poland, in collaboration with WFP, has been active in the field of food aid for a number of years now. In 2006, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development donated USD 1.2 million to food aid projects in Tanzania, Georgia, Ethiopia and other countries.
