Polish aid for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon

On June 25, 2006 a representative of the Polish Embassy in Beirut handed over Polish humanitarian aid to United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) on behalf of the Polish government. The assistance was Poland's reaction to the deteriorating circumstances of Palestinian refugees and a response to the request by Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon, Mr Fouad Sinior.

Since the beginnings of the Israeli-Hezbollah military conflict in the middle of 2006, the situation of Palestinian refugees has deteriorated significantly, both in terms of material possessions and personal security. Polish aid has been available for those in need in the region from the very first months of the crisis.
