Assistance projects for Ghazni in 2011

A meeting dedicated to the implementation of assistance projects in the Ghazni Province in Afghanistan was held
on 30 November 2011 in the Operation Headquarters of the Polish Armed Forces.

The meeting was attended, among others, by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense who summed up the implementation of assistance projects carried out in 2011 by the Polish Provincial Reconstruction Team and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Polish foreign aid.

A total of 33 projects were carried out in 2011, including 17 infrastructural, 7 educational and 9 equipment projects. Some of the major ones include the construction of a landfill site for the city of Ghazni, the building of a mechanical sewage treatment plant as well as an investment: ‘green area on the Ghazni riverside'.

The purpose of implementing these projects is to create proper conditions for social and economic development, in accordance with the Development Plan for the Ghazni Province. The projects are carried out in consultation with provincial and district authorities.
