Media for Global Development
The project was implemented between 1 August and 31 December 2011 in Krakow. Its aim was to raise awareness and interest of the journalism students and journalists about global development, and through that to improve cooperation between media and NGO representatives in this area. The coordinator of the project was the Salesian Missionary Voluntary Service - Youth For The World.
The abovementioned objectives were achieved by organising a meeting with journalists, a discussion panel, a multimedia exhibition, a flash (smart) mob “Together for development”, and a concert “Rhythm for development”. The vast majority of project activities was carried out during the Global Education Week 2011.
Approx. 750 people participated in the project. 250 of them took part in the discussion panel, and 250 in the exhibition. Moreover, 250 people participated in the flash mob and the concert. Additionally, during the project, 3,000 flyers were distributed, 1,000 posters were hung, and 40 press releases were published. During the flash mob, 500 thematic coasters were distributed, too.
