Improved access to pre-school education for resettled IDPs in one compact IDP settlement in Maltakva in West Georgia
Maltakva is a small village bordering the Black Sea where an estate for internally displaced persons was established in 2011. A kindergarten was built on the estate in 2017 as a result of a joint initiative of the Polish Embassy in Tbilisi and the Danish Refugee Council. It may take care of around 100 pupils, mainly children from the internally displaced families. Works financed from the Polish funds included laying the foundations, creation of reinforced concrete construction, concrete and masonry works, roof construction, plasterwork and insulation. The kindergarten was officially opened in March 2018.
