Admission is open for Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme 2019/2020

The Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme supports social and economic growth of developing countries by raising the education level and improving professional skills of their citizens. The programme is named after Stefan Banach, an outstanding Polish mathematician, co-founder of the Lvov School of Mathematics and of a branch of mathematics called functional analysis. The programme is run by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under Polish development cooperation.

The current scholarship offer is addressed to students from countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan). During the Polish Presidency of the Berlin Process, students from Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia) will also be eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants will be offered the possibility to enroll in a graduate programme (Masters degree) at Polish universities and will be awarded a scholarship if they study at engineering, technical, agricultural, as well as exact and natural science faculties. Students who choose to attend public universities will be exempt from tuition fees. Depending on the needs of the scholars, we will arrange a month-long Polish language and adaptation course or a one-year preparatory course before they start their studies in Poland.
